About us
Avencia has partnered with a global insurer seeking to recruit a Senior Underwriting Operations Analyst for their London office.
This role will sit within either the Longtail Hub or the Private Clients & Crisis Management Hub.
The Longtail Hub provides operational support to the Professional & Financial Lines and Credit & Political Risk underwriting teams. The Private Clients & Crisis Management Hub supports the Crisis Management, Contingency, A&H, Fine Art, and Bloodstock teams.
Key accountabilities
Underwriting Administration: Manage the team mailbox, maintain accurate records in Doxis, and complete data entry across eNora and other relevant systems, ensuring an efficient end-to-end workflow.
Data Quality: Take ownership of policy data input, ensuring compliance with quality protocols and maintaining error rates in line with company standards.
Relationship Management: Deliver high-quality service to underwriters and brokers, foster strong working relationships, and collaborate with the wider Operations team to achieve shared goals. Support and deputise for the Team Leader when required.
Risk & Controls: Ensure compliance with regulatory, local and group underwriting guidelines, maintaining effective process controls and accurate documentation.
Process Improvement: Identify and drive improvements to systems and workflows, and contribute to special projects where required.
Credit Control: Reconcile and investigate accounting queries, including weekly reports and account-level issues.
Reporting: Support MI and KPI reporting, analyse data, and prepare reports for underwriters and management as needed.
IT & Systems: Maintain strong knowledge of key IT systems, provide training and guidance to team members, and represent the team in user group forums.
General Support: Contribute to team development, including training, coaching, and team-building activities, while ensuring adherence to all local and group guidelines.Skills & experience
Previous insurance industry experience (operations/underwriting desirable).
Knowledge of the London Market and underwriting practices.
Strong MS Office skills (Outlook, Excel essential).
A-level or equivalent qualification minimum.
Working towards CII qualifications desirable (or equivalent experience)
